Chandubi Festival

Its yet another occasion to glorify tourism in Chandubi in the outskirt of the city of Guwahati. The event takes place in the new year’s week striking the attention of the foreign and domestic tourists. The venue is situated 40 km away from the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. The event gives the local people a ray of hope that the spot would get a fresh lease of life.

Singpho (Tea) Festival

The Singphos and tea are synonymous to each other. These are the people who started tea cultivation in the north eastern region. They were the first to have consumed green tea leaves. The advancement of tea technology has brought about a sea change in the tea sector where these colourful people had to remain unmoved. With the passage of time, they were reduced to a small tribe scattering in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. It’s the tea festival which give them an occasion for a get together at least for one week in a year.    

Tea Festival

Winter in Assam is an occasion to showcase its beauty and bounty to the outsiders. Festivals are lined up in the nook and corner of the tea and oil rich state much to the delight of the foreign and domestic tourists. Mention may be made of the tea festival, a state tourism department sponsored event that give new hope to the entire tea industry. The week long event takes place in between November and January drawing no less foreign delegates in Jorhat city, the tea town in the state. Exhibition, conferences and cultural functions are organized to make the event a grand success.

Dehing Patkai Festival

Winter in Assam is fine and fair for the tourists to enjoy her natural beauty and bounty. The north eastern state has no death of festivals to beckon the guests from home and abroad in this foggy season. Amid the fag end of the biting coldwaves in mid-January, Assam holds the Dehing Patkai festival in Tinsukia district to promote tourism with huge fairs, tea heritage tours, golfing, adventure sports and trips to Stilwell Road and World War II cemeteries.

Brahmaputra Beach Festival

Amid a biting cold wave in the first part of January, the sandy beaches of the river Brahmaputra in the city of Guwahati remains agog with excitement and joy. Festivity grips the historical city and its people just a couple of days before the Bhogali Bihu. The capital city of Assam becomes the ideal destination for many foreign and domestic tourists, who find it a good occasion to enjoy the natural sights and sounds of the land of red river and blue hills.

Recently, the property was leased by Network and the result is a small but pleasant property of eight standalone cottages and an open-air restaurant. cottages are fitted with air-conditioners and geysers. Power back-up facilities has been provided in case of outages. Ideal location for staying and exploring the surrounding areas.- Within vicinity of Kaziranga National Park & very close to the entrance.

Elephant Festival

Elephant in festival one of the crowd pulling event in the Kaziranga National Park in Assam which revs up eco-tourism in the north eastern state.  Apart from striking the attention of the tourists, the event aims at making the people aware of the growing man-elephant conflict. Hundreds of elephants are deployed to share the joy in presence of many domestic and foreign elephant experts. Not even a single visitor or tourist remains unmoved when rows and rows of elephants join the catwalk.

Jonbeel Mela

The English new year comes with lots of festivity in the tribal dominated areas in Assam’s Morigaon district. The most striking festival in the district in mid January is Jonbeel Mela. The unique event takes place near Jagiroad where the age old barter system is revived at least for three to four days.

The tribal people from the hills of Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao and Meghalaya comes down to participate in the unique system a week ahead of the fair. These tribal people include Tiwa, Karbi, Khasi, Jaintia who have their own home products.
