Kamala Sagar Lake

Kamala Sagar Lake is located about 27 km away from Agartala. It is a beautiful vast lake on the edge of the India- Bangladesh border. It was excavated by Maharaja Dhanya Manikyain in the 15th century. On the bank of the lake, there is a 156th century built temple of Goddess Kali. The temple is a famous pilgrimage centre in Tripura. It holds a mela during the Navratri festival which is much enjoyed by the tourists.

The inner structure of the temple contains stand stone statue of goddess kali. There is a presence of Shivalinga at its feet and that is why the temple is also known as Kalibari. It holds a very good sacred and religious values.
Kamala Sagar Lake is one of the excellent picnic spots in Tripura with scenic beauty.
