Location
The Sikkimese Bhutias are known for festivity. Their main festival is SonamLosoong to mark the New Year celebration. The festival is widely celebrated with much pomp and gaiety on 18th day of 10th month of Tibetan Lunar Calendar which they follow. Further it is their harvesting season. Puja gets prominence in this religious festival. But it draws no less tourists from the country and abroad. They believe that the puja will help them restore peace and prosperity.
The 15 day long festival comprises Kagyed dance. But the most auspicious is the Lossong festival and NyempoGuzom where all good venture is undertaken.
