BJP leader joins NPP, to contest from 6-Khliehriat

SHILLING: Finally Violet Lyngdoh formally joined the National People’s Party in the presence of Dr. W. R. Kharlukhi, State President of NPP and other senior office bearers of the party on Friday a day after he left BJP. 

Lyngdoh resigned from the BJP and also dissolved the different committees of the 6-Khliehriat unit of the BJP before formally joining NPP along with her supporters. 

She said that 6- Khliehriat mandal, Mahila Morcha East Jaintia District, 38 booth level, Yuva Morcha BJYM, ST Morcha, Kissan Morcha and Media Cell were dissolved. 

After joining NPP, she applied for the party ticket and was declared as the NPP candidate from 6-Khliehriat constituency. 

“I am happy that NPP has accepted me in their party and also considered to allot party ticket to me. I will work to further the growth of NPP in Khliehriat constituency under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Conrad K. Sangma”, said Violet Lyngdoh. 

Welcoming Lyngdoh in the party fold, Dr. Kharlukhi said, “Her wealth of experience at the grassroot will be an advantage for us as we work together to push our agenda for new Meghalaya”.  

National President Conrad K. Sangma congratulated  Lyngdoh and welcomed her to the party and has assured all support in the battle to further the growth and success of our people. 

Violet  is the sister of State BJP President Shibun Lyngdoh.
