MEWS is a non-profit group formed by volunteer youth from villages around Manas National Park. Established on 3rd Jan 2006,aims to work for the preservation of the rich bio-diversity in Manas NP and also develop eco-tourism activities in and around the park specially in the areas under basbari range
The society seeks the support of both the Government and Non Government organizations.They work with the Bodo Territorial Council and also other NGOs like ATREE and the WWF in promoting eco-tourism in Manas.
The society presently has ten executive members and fifteen general members and is headquartered at Gyati Gaon near Basbari Range of Manas National park.
