Recognised as one of the Biosphere Reserves of India, the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, is situated on the banks of the river Brahmaputra lying between Tinsukia district and Dibrugarh district in the state of Assam. It is habitat to many rare and endangered species of wildlife like hoolock gibbon, capped langur, slow loris, Gangetic river dolphin, water buffalo, elephant, tigers etc. Primarily known for the conservation of the White Winged Wood Duck in its natural habitat, the Park is also popular for its bright coloured wild horses also called ‘Feral Horses’. The Feral Horses are something different here.
Considered as a divine abode for bird watchers, the Park is home for more than 500 different species of birds. The migratory birds call for major attraction. Some of the birds which can be sighted are spot-billed pelican, white bellied heron, swamp francolin, pallah’s fishing eagle and migratory birds like geylong goose, brahmini duck, bar-headed goose, black stork etc. The Park is also well known for its Salix trees.

One can stay in any hotels in Tinsukia, but the appropriate and exciting option for nature lovers would be to stay in one of the eco-camps near Guijaan. Adventure seeking visitors can camp in one of the river islands if one opts for longer cruises on large boats.
